Bishop Esley Simmons, Sr. is founder and Senior Pastor of South Sacramento Christian Center (SSCC). He is widely known and honored for his Christ-Centered leadership. As an accomplished pastor, he has received local, national, and international awards for excellence in ministry, and has received numerous awards and commendations.

Bishop Simmons holds a Doctorate of Theology from Sacramento Theological Seminary, and was a student of Biblical Studies at Patton Bible College and Simpson Bible College. He was ordained as a Bishop in 2001 under the ministry covering of Bishop Lester Hughes, Sr. Bishop Simmons is a published author and his writings have also been published in several periodicals.

Bishop Simmons has traveled to many parts of the world, heeding his Apostolic call, including Africa, India, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, the Philippines, and Fiji. Over eighty ministries and churches are under the Bishop’s covering in India alone, as well as multiple churches in the USA. God has called Bishop Simmons to be a pastor to pastors, and a pastor to the nations.

Bishop Simmons is the proud husband of Dr. Deborah Simmons, who is his co-pastor at SSCC. Together they have five children and thirteen grandchildren.
