Music Ministry

The South Sacramento Christian Center (SSCC) began in 1988 with a vision by its founder, Bishop Esley Simmons, Sr. Bishop Esley is an accomplished pastor; he has received local, national, and international awards for excellence in ministry, he is a published author, and he has established ministries and churches around the world. SSCC’s beginning was modest, starting with a small group of people meeting in Bishop Esley’s home. The first formal service was held in December 1989 at the Cisnero’s Dance Studio on 21st Ave in Sacramento with 47 people in attendance.
In less than a year’s time, SSCC outgrew their first space, and in November 1990, the organization relocated to a warehouse on 51st Avenue in Sacramento. Only a year after that, the church outgrew that space, and moved to a newly purchased home on Power Inn Road in Sacramento, where the church has resided for almost twenty years. The church saw continued growth and expansion over the years, and in September 2009, the church relocated to its current home at 7710 Stockton Blvd.
